New Leadership Delivering Results For Our Community

Dear Neighbors,

I’m Dennis Clark, and I am running to be your next District 5 City Councilman. Many of you may already know me from my work in the community - from having the honor as serving as the Vice Chair of the Hamilton County Democratic Party, championing progressive ideas and values, and organizing with the Equity Alliance for social justice and to combat the inequalities plaguing our community. I’m a Chattanooga native residing in the Woodmore Community. I was raised in the Avondale and Highway 58 areas, where I attended Lakeside, Tyner Middle and graduated from CSAS.

I come from a strong working class family that taught me the value of hard work, and I have been involved with public service for as long as I can remember and now I want to work for you! We need to create more opportunities for those struggling to make ends meet, create living wage jobs for all Chattanoogans, improve public schools for our neighborhood children, and make public safety - especially getting guns off the streets - a top priority.

As a small business owner, non profit executive, and community organizer, I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate the complicated governmental agencies, and get things done!

I’m running for City Council because there is still work to be done, and I want to be that bold and fearless champion of change you can always depend on. I want to ensure that people in our community have a fair shot at the incredible opportunities Chattanooga has to offer. I believe in “Opportunity for All.” Chattanooga is a city full of opportunity, and I will be a fighter the people of District 5 can depend on to ensure equal access to all our great city has to offer.

I’m very proud to have the endorsements of numerous community members - including current City Councilman Russell Gilbert,  Woodmore Neighborhood Association President, Ezra Harris, Former District 5 City Councilman and City Court Clerk, Ron Swafford, District 5 resident and School Board Member, Tiffany Robinson, Asst. Police Chief, Glenn Scruggs, businessman Gerald Mason and Bishop Kevin Adams - to name a few.

But enough about me, I want to hear from you! Call me or text me on my personal cell phone number at. (423) 504.3202. I would love for you to get involved with our campaign. Please visit our website at to sign up to volunteer, request a yard sign, make a donation, and more.

This has been a year of extreme challenges and changes, but we have to keep the faith; the best is yet to come. I look forward to working with you, and serving as your next City Councilman!

Yours in Service,
